It's been almost a month since I last blogged, so says a little bird that reminded me. ;)

Been finding home as a rather comfortable place to hide from the outside world, it just looks so... bleak at times. Maybe it's the start of another year thing, my pile of work, the possibility of going for the china oip trip (1st time travelling beyond southeast asia oh my) or... I don't know.

I'm glad there's home though, it's like a little refuge from the constants bombings. You don't see them, you can't touch them, but they are like assassins, slowly working their way to their target, engulfing them, suffocating them, until they either break out, die out or become one of them...

Back in the holidays I sure had quite alot of fun though, staying at home to play Halo: Reach, which was really amazing. I heard they've got secret items in the Legendary difficulty of the game, so to spare myself the agony, I went to try I one thing I've always feared about Halo. And Legendary sure is no joke. The Elite's A.I is much more smarter now, constantly pinning, flanking and assaulting you. Same goes for the other enemies, a group of Grunts is now a possible deadly threat, Jackals make better use of their shields to slowly advance opon you, Yan'mes are a pain in the ass to aim at when they rain plasma fire whilst flying, Brutes, while lacking in shields compared to their Elite counterparts, are still are force to be reckoned with when in groups. And Hunters? Well... same old tough beasts that rain hell in pairs :)
And die, the games definitely wants you. Like one particular blogger mentioned (can't remember who), Reach on Legendary serves to remind you the futility of defending Reach. Anyone who's read the novel or noticed the storyline would know the ending from the beginning. That Reach will fall to the Covenants. And on ground, everyone dies. Civilians who are being evacuated, local militia holding up the Covenant assault force, the UNSC defending the planet for as long as they can, and your Spartan team being one small blip within in this incursion. But still as the player, you still fight on all the way till the end, personally personifying the spirits of the Spartans and the UNSC: That they would all fight the war to its end, because defeat is truly not much of an option.
And so you are glad that this is a game, while your Spartan A.Is are invulnerable, giving you the occasional breather to whittle down enemies, and moving on to the next objective. But given the number of times you would have died, you come to realise that your team might not make it out of this fight. Two scarificed themselves for the greater good, 1 was killed in action, and another picked off by enemy sniper. If that's not hard enough, the final holdoff on the final level shows you what it takes to truly be a Spartan, with brutes coming around your position, each round getting tougher, and chances are, you have died so many times hoping to get a checkpoint to slowly inch your way further into the game progress.

Team Fortress 2 is equally fun, cartoony, and open hell once you are out in the fields. Either serious lulz days, or just downright lulz
And Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is serious business. You don't work as a team, be prepared to make your whole team lose. Real serious, real tactical, real challenge.
Real fun. Many thanks to adrian who keeps entertaining me on steam ^^

Still feeling kind of crappy since the near end of December, and not sure whether to quit aikido. On one hand I enjoy trainings, but on the other hand either I'm not free or I don't want to commit. Oh I could use a sabbatical, but knowing myself, it's pretty much useless. So I'm finding other places to peace out and mediate; mull over current events. Not much progress so far. Miss my secondary school days where I really enjoyed going for my Chinese chess and video editing club ccas, sure both are slack, but I love them! Especially video editing, although truthfully I must admit, over time Joshua feels like the only one around that can things done while I help out what little I can. Not that I've got a problem with that; he does a pretty good job of videos, I must admit.

The Foundtainhead's a somewhat inspirational read I think, but there are definitely some parts I don't get. Can't quite put my finger to it... but I suppose it's a good thing that it's somewhat like a story... not sure how the main character would get on though, not done with the book yet...

Twitter's a rather cool micro-blogger, I agree :)

Oh and Leon sings well serious I stunned whole day that day
