Moon was a great show. Finally, someone who got a science-fiction movie well done. And nice theme from Clint Mansell. I like how the director showcased the interaction between our two miners on the moon, when they realised that they are clones. Thought-provoking film. Pity it's on the Picturehouse. Then again, the "fucks" would have been censored otherwise, and they happen to be too close to important scenes in the story.
Nice sets, Picturehouse. Real comfy and spacious enough. Aircon's at just perfect temperature too. Could use with a higher headrest though.

This year's Hungry Ghost was lukewarm. Clashes with Ramadan, so when we went to give offerings, the malays were off from mosque, so lots of people. Which also means harder time to just throw my long range banana/tofu/towgay/peanuts/coins/etc. But when we were done, I saw all these mynahs and sparrows feasting on the offerings. aww. So next year I'm throwing them long range towards the grass patches, and maybe give up my dream of hitting the mosque with a banana. Maybe.

Heard a car skidding and crashing into some metal stuffs, followed by someone screaming. Whether that is a car crash or someone having fun with drifting, i don't know.

Ok, I m gonna try to keep this short, since it is the prelims after all, but I'm putting this down before I forget all about it.

Did go to the plant exhibition at Hortpark. Don't ask me what day it was coz I don't remember. But we had a nice day out seeing how nature can complement our concrete jungles, and assorted plantsy stuffs. And next time, if I find a caterpillar on our plants, I won't just cut the leaves and throw them off. Did you know, in Singapore, our local species of butterflies and uh, other butterflies sees a decline in its population? So help them repopulate by growing more plants that attract them, and not killing off the blob of wriggly thing.
Headed to Bukit Timah Shopping Centre to find a new maid after that, but a took a long detour, taking a bus from Vivo to Bukit Timah, rather than straight from Alexandra Road. zzzz. We checked out our usual maid employment centre, as well as some other one opened by Jack Neo. You get movie ticket to his new movie when you employ their services leh! lulz. I simply wandered about since I'm not so interested in looking at their profiles. Saw all these rich teens heading to (Montessori?) for tuition. Wonder who likes living a Bukit Timah sia. Nice food and quiet locations, but other amenities not say very accessible eh.

Birthday celebration was at West Mall's Swensen. Lucky got voucher, 90+ dollars slashed to 40+ dollars.
Birthday cake is a durian one, lol.

And a big thank you to all who wished me a happy birthday! And no, I won't smite the rest of you for not doing so. Instead, I think I should thank you all for sparing me the need to reply to your wishes. I must say, its odd having people wishing you a happy birthday. Curse you facebooook!

I think I missed out something else but I can't remember. Heck, toodles!

(I can't believe I'm running out of pics for you guys. Aww!)

Today is so good for sleeping. The day is cool, and the bed is awesome.

Until I started out my afternoon with killing bedbugs.
Since mum's bed is now under attack by bedbugs, we went through the bed, and start picking off them.
These guys are sure at some sort of pinnacle of evolution. The eggs look more like fungi growth, the little ones are white, so they hide well amongst the the white bedding. As they grow bigger, they get more brownish dark, so they hide well old splattered blood of their ancestors, while they look like part of the carnage. And since they camouflage well, so they tend not to move to avoid detection. The larger ones on the other hand, since are all black and brown, will probably make a dash for it most of the time.

From that, I thus conclude that whites have no balls and blacks are brainless.

Possible that their dash is just for diversion to let the younger ones slip by. You never know.
And since bedbugs stink after killed, I surmise that it a scent given off to alert others that one died here. So if one uses their hand to crush one and chase another later, the scent would make them either stay or run.

Now to show you, the Pokemon Comatose theory.

Durians on last tuesday is nice. Least they ain't bitter.

Having a buffet at Sakura is interesting. I like the food, considering it's the first time I really ate a Japanese meal. But note to self, coffee flavoured ice cream does not go well with spaghetti. Bleh.

Went to walk the Forest Trail on National Day. I like the Henderson Wave. Nicely stylised wave. And the Jewel Box is a beautiful work of architecture on top of Mount Faber. Nice view from their iconic toilets.

And Superdog calls Apricot tea, made from teabag, tea? Ridonkculous! It doesn't even taste apricotty. Only the sugar syrup saved your day mate.

Dad brought me to see this flea market in China Square, next to Far East Square. Operates only on Sundays. Sells lots of old toys sia, old mini gundams, anime toys, world war 2 propaganda magazines, 2 dildos, old cameras and videocams, tapes, a book on Communism writtened by then Minister of Defence last time, and also assorted figurines. Stuffs like old coins, notes, stuffed toys are also common sight, but there is mainly toys. And with model figurine shops in the shopping mall too, it is a wonder for toy collectors. These shops sell model toys, like 1:100 scale of ARC Troopers, Halo 3 Legendary Helmet kit, figurines from World of Warcraft, The Dark Knight, Transformers, Gears of War 2, Star Wars, Gundam, other animes, Marvel Universe, and many others.
Speaking of which, mum won a mini Piccolo figurine seh! First figurine of my life. Left it back in its box.

Mum tried cooking spaghetti on Monday! But since my stomach isn't a great fan of spaghetti sauces, I got tired of the caborana after some time. I did finish my portion. Me thinks fried spaghetti tastes much better. Like ee-mian, but better.

Did I upload this before? If yes, sorry! Running really low on images liao, so next time no more le.

Walked with Ken and Joe to the bus stop near Chinese Garden. Relaxing sia, just slowly walk while chatting.
Shitted at a drain outside while Joe was waiting for his bus. This uncle came jogging by and saw me. Gahhh! Hope no one else did.
Walked along the Chinese Garden Park Connector after that. Nice and calming around nature. I threw a fruit into the waters but it didn't float. :(

Movies I've watched recently: Harry Potter and Up.

The Half Blood Prince this time round is not as good, compared to the other films. While in essence it has gotten the gist of the story, the director done it in such a manner that he sort of deviates from the original print material. While this is a common problem when adapting another medium to film format, it is a little too much. As one episode of the Simpsons goes, "Angelica leaves school, blah blah, new guide, *flips flips* learns new spell, and defeats Montymort. Yay!" All that from quick browsing in the car.

EDIT: Iluma's ok. But perhaps a little too much clothes shops, its like a mini bugis or something. And the Manhattan Fish Market, nice fish. Just got to pick another next time. Seabass dish with tiramisu and mudpie? Oh too darned full.

Up is good, mum's office gave early screening. While fast-paced, it has moments that touches you. Depending on how you see it, you would most probably get different impressions. Pixar is also getting better with its animation and level of detail. Got a nice shock when the credits revealed that Michael Giacchino.

Quotes of my own after watching Up: possible spoilers!

Regarding the old man: Do no take me as stubborn, I'm just strongly emotionally attached.
The little things in life are always worth remembering and to treasure. (Learnt this long ago, and still applying it.)
While they never got to Paradise Falls together, their time spent together was one of bliss.

EDIT: Saw someone that looks like Guinevere after that. Except that she's taller, and has a slighly longer face. Sideways view only, from front it looks different. Except maybe the eyes.

EDIT: 2 squirrels live across the ground next to my old primary school. Awesome. One of them has some rather big buckteeth there.

Messed with a red ant colony outside school today. They had used the sap of the leaf to make glue to stick several of them together, forming a small nest. Messed it up by poking it with a long stick picked up from the ground, and ending with a throwing a stone that zijian threw but barely hit. Funfunfun, just like primary school days...

Movies to watch next time: District 9, Bruno and Moon!
