For a "what-if" scenario, the writer makes it look very plausible of a impending zombie outbreak, and through accounts from the survivors, bring you a few of the war on undeads, from the average joe, to the smugglers in China. At the same time, offering a look at the age old dispute between Palestinians and Israelis, government inability efficiency vs. morals and various aspects of life.
