Got to micah's place today. I didn't know there's actually enclaves of Christians living in tight clusters, though on hindsight, I shouldn't be that surprised since I also have a malay enclave of sorts living around my area...

But I'm still pretty amazed with the Salvation Army at the left, a church at the right, some St. Francis School and at the top the uh Holy Trinity College I think. Built upwards going by the contours of the hill I suppose, the area keeps making me think of it not just as a small community tucked away in Bukit Timah, but also a rather decent place to hold out against a zombie attack, provided there's enough supplies; that's the only flaw I can think of. Oh and the back. Merely a long fence, not strong enough.
Anyways he has a really nice place. Staffs (and their family, as well as students I suppose) can live behind the college. The place is definitely quieter than mine, where I can still hear traffic drone by, you can hardly hear a noise from outside once you cross the gates and got past the door. I haven't seen the full layout of the place, but the way the apartments are built, it does appear that indirectly a communal setting is built around it. Or the other way around, I don't know. The blocks sort of "curve" around the "atrium", where at the middle is a rock sculpture, providing a "natural" place for people to gather. Adding on to the fact that the blocks face the entrances and exits, a chokepoint is created and thus higher chances of meeting the residents. Not sure if the blocks facing the library means that learning is encouraged though during the planning phase.
Well his place is small and cosy, a nice place for bros to hang out... sorry about how short I can describe his house, compared to the buildings :/

I don't know what to think of a Christian enclave, or any other religious enclave though. Other than possibly being closer to their religion, I suppose they are nice people, right?

Overslept taking 178, so I took 246 from the interchange to wake myself up. Nothing like wind blowing at you, though today's factory air has a tinge of tau huey, not my favourite. I prefer the biscuit or malt smell anyday...

OHOHOH forgot to mention that the school library is a terrible place to find books, based on what little experience I have so far. Imagine a kopitiam. And an open-air library like, across the street or something. That's the kind of noise level you will get, which while I'm ok with (It's like at home with the telly on), sure makes me miss NLB haha.
I suppose the only benefit so far is that naturally, you have lots of eye-candy to watch. mmmhmmm.
And the library (or at least the what Each A Cup Cafe I think) is playing CNY tunes hahaha!

Note to self: Continue reading some other day 2001: A Space Odyssey and watch the movie too if I can!

Not that I don't like to download shows, it's just that I've never had the habit. I like how every week at that same timeslot you can sit down and watch one's show, not wolf down the entire series in a day. Downloading it to watch weekly is also just short for a personal cocktease. And I have not even touched my season 3 of Fringe because I rather watch it on the television, which the 360 can do, but only if it's at least .avi or if Windows Media Player can play it by default, I suppose. Actually I digress, Channel 5's transmission quality was better than the downloaded version, though both are decent, and it has subtitles! Too bad Channel 5 don't do english subs, and I STILL have not figured out how to combine sub and vid file into one. The 360 doesn't play them separately.
